£545.00

P. H. Siems (fl. 1883-1906)

'HMS Odin off Cape Point'

Original signed and dated watercolour 1906

P. H. Siems was a South African artist that is known for his paintings of shipping around the South African coast, predominantly the Cape.

His works rarely come to market and this is a good example depicting the Royal Navy sloop 'HMS Odin', one of the last British Colonial gunships, rounding the Cape.

Provenance: E B A Rochefort Art Dealer / Private collection

Frame size 18 1/4" x 22 3/4", painting size 8" x 14"

Good overall condition, light foxing to sky but does not in my opinion detract from the image, solid oak stepped antique frame, new professional double mount, ready to hang
