Yeend King was a popular and important Victorian genre and landscape painter who exhibited widely at the RA, SS, NWS etc. He was made VPRI in 1901

Part of his training was completed in Paris under Bonnat and Cormon and it is from this that he became an accomplished plein air artist using strong bold colours.

This particular watercolour shows these attributes and is inscribed verso with the title, a fine example of his work.
