Original signed and dated watercolour, 1924

Aileen Elliott was a British artist known almost exclusively for her depictions of boats and harbour scenes of which this particular painting which was exhibited at the Salon of 1928 (original label verso) is a super example.

Elliott studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, London and was a regular exhibitor at the RA and the RSA, and the Paris Salon. She was elected a member of the Society of Graphic Art and of the Winchester Art Club.

Examples of her marine scenes are held at the V&A.

Frame size 19 1/2" x 24", painting size 10 1/4" x 14 1/4"

Very good condition, period solid oak frame (age related scratches/imperfections as expected), new professional acid free double mount, ready to hang
